Do you want to be involved in developing the profitability and competitiveness of businesses in the production and service industry? If the answer is yes, our bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management is a good option for you. Industrial management studies consist of financial management, engineering and leadership studies. You will also have a chance to participate in working life projects that will provide you with the skills needed to work in development and expert positions or as an entrepreneur.
Centria's industrial management studies will familiarise you in a versatile way with the different fields of industrial management. The studies begin from the basics, so you do not need any previous know-how or work experience. You will study mathematics, natural sciences, languages and communication. You will deepen your understanding of financial administration and management. In your studies you will specialize in mechanical engineering and supply chain management. The advanced studies focus on specific issues of industrial management and the development of production processes and quality.
The contact teaching will be organised on our Campus Allegro in Pietarsaari on weekdays. The studies also include online lessons and independent work. In addition to traditional lectures, you can also practise your teamwork skills in different group works and assignments. You will also get to do laboratory practices together with your fellow students. During your studies, you will also visit local businesses and get to know their operations. On several courses, we also have work-life representatives and experts as visiting lecturers. You will also have the chance to take part in different projects in which you can work with a customer company. The projects are a great opportunity to demonstrate your skills and gather contacts in corporate life – and by doing that, you might even get a summer job or a permanent position in some company.

1. Scholarship element – Early bird: -10%
- An early bird scholarship when accepting the Centria's Conditional Offer for studies within 2 weeks from notification
- This way, only a discounted 90% of the tuition fee amount is paid for the first academic year, both on Bachelor’s and Master’s level
- The 10% amount is automatically reduced from the tuition fee
2. Scholarship element – Progress in studies: -20%
- When studying 60 ECTS per year completing studies normatively according to the study programme, a student can apply for this scholarship
- The scholarship is 20 % of the tuition fee of their particular study year
- It is paid afterwards
3. Scholarship element – Academic performance: -100%
- Scholarship covering the full tuition fee of one academic year, both on Bachelor’s and Master’s level
- Awarded based on the academic progress to the top two performing students per degree programme, taking the normative progress (60 ECTS/year) and the grade point average into account
- Transferred credits are not taken into account
- This scholarship can be received once per degree/person
- It is paid afterwards
4. Scholarship element – Finnish language skills: 2000 €
- This scholarship element is a reward for advancing in Finnish language studies
- Can be proven with a Finnish language certificate completed outside of Centria, with a minimum level of B1.1, according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)
- This scholarship can be received once per degree/person
5. Support programme – Employment: 1400 € / month
- Centria offers paid, 3 month internships to 7 international and 7 domestic students working as tandem pairs in education, RDI activities or student services
- Positions are open twice per year, and annually to 14 students
6. Support programme – Integration: 2000 €
- This scholarship is awarded to 5 students who have outstanding achievements in advancing internationalization, integration of international students, encouraging community spirit and cross-cultural cooperation
- Both international and domestic students can be awarded
- This scholarship can be received once per degree/person
- Awarded students are selected by a Selection Committee

During your studies, you will dive deep into industrial management-related subjects. You will also study mathematics, natural sciences, languages and communication. You will have courses in business, financial administration and marketing. During your final year, you will work on the bachelor’s thesis project. You will also practice your skills in work placement.

The Bachelor’s thesis is usually done as a commission for a company either alone or with a fellow student. The scope of the thesis is 15 ECTS.
