Mechatronics is a modern, multidisciplinary field of science that combines mechanical and electrical engineering, computer science, and digitalization in the design and manufacturing of industrial products and machine systems.
In this master's programme, you will learn to apply artificial intelligence to the control systems of machines and processes, including maintenance, services, and programming. You will also learn about digital twins, autonomous machine systems, and the development and usability of user interfaces.

Lectures and exercises take place online on the Moodle platform and on campus. Most contact teaching takes place on the Lahti campus, though some laboratory tutorials are held on the Lappeenranta campus.
While most laboratories and other facilities of the Department of Mechanical Engineering are located in Lappeenranta, some are also available in Lahti.
Blended teaching makes this programme also suitable for people with a full-time job.
Delivering courses in a blended format does not affect the process of obtaining a residence permit for studies.
